October 18th, Go Tigers!!
|
Hey everyone (a term I'll use reflexively in view of the month gap in posting) it's almost time to bring back
the daily cycling report. The first snow fell early this year and we've more coming soon. But before truly
turning a back to the summer of 2006, a summer that winged past way too quickly, it's worth celebrating a prolonged
autumn thanks to the Tigers. I'll have to admit to a few things that'll bring a tear to my eye
about Detroit, the regeneration of Downtowm, the friends I've found here, but at the moment the No.1
is the Tiger's season. We hosted a few parties this last year, the all-star game and SuperBowl XL,
but this one's ours, this one is for Detroit. Go Tigers in the World Series!

September 3rd, Return of Window Art: Lafayette Building
|
If you've got a whole building to play in, why think small? Someone said this was from the same
DH group that upgraded the UA building with the great Mayan window designs. I think RealDetroit/Metrotimes
also did a piece suggesting it's the guy who's working on decorating some burnout near Canfield
and St Aubin.

September 1st, Graffiti & street art
|
Some of this I may have posted before, but since the March archive looks to have fallen into a black pit, I'll re-post.
Detroit has some cool street-art and graffiti, but much of it is out of the way. Downtown it's really just Tag
that predominates with the exception of eastern market and the abandoned railtrack. Here's a selection...

OK. So the DBB Flikr is back up and running. I've come to the conclusion that this site is good for
funnies and reportage whilst Flickr is a great place to try and improve on technique. So I'll try and run themin parallel,

August 14th Detroit Caribbean Parade
|
Whilst a lot of people headed over to the Woodbridge Festival, I hung around the Chene Park area for the caribbean parade.
The Carribean festival brings together outrageous costumes, great music, fun and laughter and DPD. For some reason DPD feel the
urge to parade in support of the festival, whilst the colorful procession of dancing and music roles down woodward, DPD race
up and down on their motorbikes and in their squad cars, almost obscuring the procession by their numbers ...
